ⅰ　There is(are)～.の文の意味
　　「～がある（いる）」という意味に用いる。
　　後ろに付く名詞が単数ならis、複数ならareを使う。

　　There is a book on the desk.（机の上に本があります。）
　　There are some books on the desk.（机の上に何冊かの本があります。）

ⅱ　疑問文の作り方
　　疑問文はbe動詞をthereの前に持ってくる。

　　肯定文：There is your school near my house.（あなたのの学校は家の近くにあります。）
→ 疑問文：Is there your school near my house?（あなたの学校は私の家の近くにありますか？）
　　答え方：Yes there is./No there is not.

ⅲ　否定文の作り方
　　be動詞の後ろに「not」を付けることで否定文を作ることができる。

　　肯定文：There is pen in my hand.（私の手の中にペンがあります。）
→ 否定文：There is not pen in my hand.（私の手のなかにペンはありません。）

ⅳ　There is(are)の文の過去形
　　is、areをwas、wereにすることで過去形となる。
